The ugly and the less ugly
May 21, 2008
Dear friends,
After all my hardcore art concentration, work, editing, performing, video presentation and so on, this week I will start an intense workout session of seven days. A very dear friend of mine gave me a free voucher to use as I please in a famous sport studio in Berlin. So I will do my best to be there every day and see what it has to offer. I have never been a fan of gyms for several reasons: They are never clean or clean enough. I don’t like the smell of other people sweating next to me and in the lockers. I don’t like having to think every day about weather or not I packed everything I need in my gym bag and having to travel all the way from home to get there and so on… For all these reasons and more I prefer to exercise at home. As I posted months ago, I have my own equipment at home and exercise on a very regular basis in my own flat. It is comfortable, easy and fast to get to. All you need is discipline and I got it. But I have to admit that a gym does offer more ways of forcing your entire body structure to work more and in different ways. I’ll see what they have to offer me today and during the tryout week and then who knows… maybe they’ll manage to change my mind about everything… although… hmmm… other gyms tried too but with no results.
I am trying to take some time off before restarting intense work on my next project which will be a documentary. I wanna be fit too because the spring tiredness kicked in and I guess the best way to fight it is through a good ol’ healthy cardio workout. Having spring allergies is another “no helper” so I gotta work even more to stay fit. I don’t get it… I see all these people, and some of them are sooooo young and they look amazing and have almost nothing to do for it and there are people like me who work their ass off just do be presentable and it still isn’t enough. Mother nature sure is nicer to only but a few! Why oh why? Oh well… if my destiny was to work for my own self till I drop, then be it! Ain’t nobody and no thing gonna stop me now! For all of you out there who also weren’t born “gifted” in their looks and body, and who have had to develop other skills to charm people, you know what I’m talking about… all of us should stick together! It ain’t all that bad in the end. I guess…
Love,
Ivan
