a first boost of inspiration… minimal… trashy and real!

Dear friends…
this summer sucks…
breaking up if so painfull it feels like dieing! The pain is not fading!
August is a “good-bye” kind of month and it always brings out the nostalgy that will follow up till mid -end october, leaving space to a cold winter…

these days I am not on holidays anywhere… all my friends stood me up. Nobody gives a fuck or is too busy surviving. So now the time has come for me to do my shit regardless of the others and stop saying always yes! SO here I am saying NO to useless phone calls, silly requests, miserable date offers and boring conversations.

I will have my holidays and they will be spent in Berlin, at home, with the phone off the hook and no e-mails and work. No blood suckers around me any more. Just lazy sublime nothing. A soft summer breeze, a video camera, a photo camera, inspiration and me.

Ivan Civic – fail to lose

This is one of the rarer performances I did in Berlin… It is another sort of weird video game for the artist… but this time the goal is not to become the ultimate artist superhero, just like in the other game: “Want it, get it, fake it!”… in this game the question: “Do I want to become an artist superhero anyway?” arises, but no actual answer is given. The aim of the game is to fail to lose, meaning: if you fail to lose, you win the game but by winning you actually lose the game, because the aim is to lose… a paradox…

Ivan Civic – Want it, get it, fake it! – the lost level

another performance out of the “virtual video game” world of the arts… Performed in Dubai… it wasn’t easy to get all those people to engage in any sort of physical interaction… and as for the hugs… they were difficult too, considering that each hug was over a couple minutes long.

Sticky and sweet concert in Berlin – 28.8.2008

I’ve been to the concert in Berlin. Had regular tickets and made it to the second row in the golden circle. I could decide where to stand so I went to the right side of the stage, right after the top of the catwalk ended. Its more or less the same spot I went to on the Confessions tour in Hannover two years ago. The stage in stadiums is pretty high, although the catwalk is a bit lower and that is a bit frustrating for the neck. I remember the catwalk being much lower in London for the Confessions tour.

Santogold

santogold is amazing. Her first album is a must buy! Its great from beginning to end. I can’t stop listening to it. The CD is on loop constantly! She’s from New York and recently she had her first and only German gig in Berlin, in tape club. Her voice is amazing. So far “you’ll find a way” has been my favorite track. I hope it will be her next single. So listen to Santogold and enjoooooy.
